December 2009

We had fun baking and decorating ginger bread houses and ginger bread boys and girls.

Brendan did a great job at his preschool Christmas program. I didn't get a lot of pictures because I was busy filming it instead. Brendan was chosen to be Rudolph the red nosed reindeer because his teacher thought that he would do a good job with the acting part because he is the class clown (I don't know why she would say that... look at the picture above ;) He got to wear a blinking red nose and antlers and dance around. That's my boy!! Good job Brendan!

Have a GREAT Christmas!!

This little picture above was from last year. We tried to do this again but as you can see from the picture below the boys now think that kissing a girl is disgusting!! I thought it was pretty funny. Ha Ha, I guess my kids are growing up fast!

Daelyn the ballerina

The little girl's warm ups

The BIG girl's warm ups (which Daelyn insisted on doing with them!)
I am amazed at how much she has learned at her new ballet studio. They really focus on technique and she is blossoming into a beautiful ballerina :) I was so impressed just watching her do the warm ups with the BIG girls because Daelyn was so little in comparison yet she knew all of the ballet terminology (which she didn't know before... her other dance studios were awful!) and her technique was wonderful :)

She is quite the little performer

She is becoming so precise with her movement and making sure that her arms are perfectly straight. She even tells the other little girls in her class to straighten their arms and what to do (ya, she might be a little bossy.... we are working on that ;)

We have spent the last month going to lots of ballet rehearsals and performances for Daelyn. She is becoming quite the little ballerina!! She is very dedicated! Back stage of her BIG Polar Express performance she was practicing her turns and staying warmed up and stretching, it was cute... she wouldn't even stop long enough for me to get some good pictures of her. She loves performing on stage (I don't know where she gets it ;) and does a fantastic job! We were allowed to leave after the first act (Daelyn's class is only in act one) but Daelyn insisted on staying through the second act because she HAD to stay for the finale so she could do her curtsy at the end with everyone, so funny!! Way to go Daelyn we are so proud of you!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I know that I normally make a list of things that I am thankful for but I feel like I am SO overly blessed that I can't even begin to make a list... it would be WAY TOO LONG! Therefore, I am going to wish everyone a Very Happy Thanksgiving and hope that you feel our Savior's love and blessings that he gives us every day. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!! We love you all and are grateful for everyone and everything :D

Cute Cam Conversations

While driving in the car today Cameron (my three year old) and I were having a discussion about what is real and what isn't real. Since Halloween he has been concerned about ghosts and goblins and what not so I was telling him that those things aren't real so he doesn't need to worry about them. So he was going through the list outloud...

ghosts aren't real
monsters aren't real
vampires aren't real
spiders are real and dinosaurs are real... mom are dinosaurs real?

I told him that yes dinosaurs are real but they all died a long time ago so none of them are living anymore.

His response was, "So all of the dinosaurs are dead? Does that mean that all of the dinosaurs are in heaven? (long pause) Mommy, I don't want to go to heaven when I die!!"

I guess this was one of those moments that you had to be there for to REALLY appreciate because it was priceless but I don't want to forget it so I am writing it down :)

Happy 7th Birthday Daelyn!!

I can't believe that my sweet little toothless princess turned 7 today!! Daelyn is such a joy to have in our family. She is like a second mommy to her little brothers (ok, so she might boss them around just a little bit, but isn't that what princesses do??). She is so sweet and she makes friends quicker than anyone I know. Daelyn is so smart and talented and we are so blessed to have her in our family.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAELYN, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

Happy Halloween!!

Brendan told me that vampires DON'T have blonde hair, so we had to spray it black.

MEOW!!

CHEESE!

We went trick or treating with cousins Easton and Gracee. We had lots of fun :)

Carving Pumpkins!!

We went to the pumpkin patch to get pumpkins. I was in the car with Cam because he had just thrown up ALL over himself. But Josh and Brendan and Daelyn went out in the pouring rain and got us some great pumpkins. A few days later (after everyone was over the nasty flu we all had) we got to carve our pumpkins :)

We all had a GREAT time. We love this time of year. It is SO much FUN :D

Daelyn's 7th Birthday Party :)

Yes, we did Daelyn's birthday party early this year. She really wanted to do a Harry Potter Halloween party for her birthday this year and I thought that it would be better to do it when I had the Halloween decorations up. No, I wasn't going to keep them up for an extra week and a half after Halloween. Daelyn was Hermoine, Josh was Lucious Malfoy, Brendan was Harry and Cam was Ron. We had a Halloween Kareoke and dance party We made Halloween candy necklaces and played Halloween twister
We did our potions class where we mixed potions (drinks) and we got to use all of the gruesome ingredients on top of our dementor brains (icecream) and had some cupcakes and magic wands (oreo stix) with it.
And thank you everyone for the presents. Daelyn loves them. We spent ALL weekend doing all of the fun things you gave her :)

STRAW BERRIES

I just thought that this was SUPER cute...

Cam: What is this?
Me: This is straw
Daelyn: So, do berries grow in the straw? Is that why they call them STRAW BERRIES?

I LOVE the things that kid's say and the way that their little minds work :)

Weekend at the cabin

We love to roast marshmellows and have yummy, gooey smores at the cabin :)

My marshmellow "vanished" off the end of my raosting stick (I saw Brendan sneak it) So I asked Brendan if he saw what happened to my marshmellow and this was his silent but sneaky response (yes, he has guilty, chubby cheeks full of marshmellow). I love this boy, he is so cute and SNEAKY :)

Then the next day we all went fishing and had TONS of FUN!!

I think Cam liked to play with the worms more than anything else :P

The leaves were changing colors and it was SO BEAUTIFUL!!

Cute daddy and son fishing together. What a fun weekend :) :) :)
