Gobble Gobble!

We had a nice, small Thanksgiving with just our little family this year in South Carolina.
The kids really wanted to make some oreo turkeys again this year, so here they are...

We truly have so much to be thankful for this year, we are very blessed.
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Daelyn's 10th Birthday at Build-A-Bear

We took Daelyn and some of her friends to build-a-bear for Daelyn's birthday party this year. The girls all had a great time picking out their bears, dressing them, and playing all of the cute little games that they do for birthday parties there.
Then, we walked over to the food court in the mall and had cupcakes and ice cream, opened presents and decorated their bear's houses.
Then, the boys were really sad that they didn't get to go to build-a-bear like all the girls, so we told them if they were good with Daddy at the mall that they could go after the party.... so we went back so they could get a build-a-bear too :)

Happy birthday Daelyn!!! I can't no believe that you are already ten years old and are in double digits now! You are becoming such a beautiful young lady, both inside and out. We love you!!

                                                         HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Favorite Story Book Character Day At School

Since schools can no longer celebrate Halloween anymore, the wonderful principal at our school didn't want the kids to miss out on dressing up and having a parade... Therefore, instead of celebrating Halloween, we celebrated reading, and had a day where everyone dressed up as their favorite book character :) Nothing scary was allowed, just characters from their favorite books (and they had to bring the book).
Cameron is currently reading Harry Potter, so of course he chose to be Harry Potter. Brendan loves any, and every, spy related book he can get his hands on, so of course he chose to be a spy.
Daelyn's current favorite book series is the Thirteen series. So she chose to be the queen of the fall faries from that series.
And yes... I had to dress up too (one of the drawbacks of being a teacher, I guess ;).  So, I chose to be Nancy Drew, because growing up, she was my favorite book character. Unfortunately, none of the students at school (other than Daelyn... she shares my love of Nancy Drew) even knew who Nancy Drew was. But, when I told my students who she was, and told them that she likes to solve mysteries, they all want to read her books now :) YAY!!!! That made me happy! Maybe there will be a new generation of Nancy Drew book readers :)
