Walnut Grove Plantation (Revolutionary War Weekend)

All of the tents were pitched all over the plantation.

Everyone was dressed up and doing things that they would have really been doing back then.

 The Doctor's office.
The cemetery was fascinating to see where Generals, soldiers and even small children were buried over 200 years ago.
Daelyn was so happy that Izzy and Noni met us there :)
Everything was authentic..... well almost everything. I was laughing at the guy carrying around a roll of toilet paper ;)

The boys could have watched this guy melt metals and make metal buttons, spoons, etc... all day.  It was really cool!!

 The girls liked the animals.
It was neat to watch the blacksmith at work.
This was the cutest little girl ever teaching the kids how to use this loom.

Cameron was clearly done with the weaving and was ready to move on ;)

 Writing with quills and ink.

The kids learned lots of fun games that they used to play.

The kids may have gotten into some mischief ;)

Brendan and the old ball and chain.

 The girls making jewelry.

 The boys sharpening knives :/
Cameron recognized the kilts, and these men told us all about the Cameron clan during the war, and how they would wear the same kilt, but they had a red ribbon down the side to show their clan pride :)

We all LOVED watching the war reinactment... it was REALLY neat!!!

Daelyn needed to go to this event for a social studies grade for school, and I am glad we went. We all really enjoyed it, learned a lot, and had lots of fun too!  I like this kind of homework. :)
